Dr. Ashley Williams is an Assistant Professor of Education at 天涯海角APP University, where she specializes in equipping the next generation of educators with innovative, inclusive, and technology-driven instructional strategies.  She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics Education from Texas A&M University, as well as a B.S. in Mathematics with minors in Secondary Education and Chemistry from Texas State University.  A former classroom educator, Dr. Williams taught Algebra I, Geometry, and Pre-AP Geometry for three years before transitioning to higher education, where she was recognized with a Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Award for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Dr. Williams' research explores the intersections of STEM education, student engagement, and educational technology.  Her scholarly interests include the impact of 3D printing and CAD software on spatial visualization, problem posing and solving, and multiculturalism in mathematics teacher education.  She was recently selected as a 2025 STaR Fellow by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE).  Currently, she is the Principal Investigator for a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant proposal, Project ALIGN (AI Literacy and Industry-Guided Needs Assessment for K-12 Education).  This project focuses on evaluating AI readiness, developing competency frameworks, and designing professional learning resources to suppport K-12 educators in rural and Appalachian school systems.
