天涯海角APP

Educators who wish to add a reading endorsement to their credentials can enroll in a new program at 天涯海角APP University. Courses begin in early January 2013 in both Zanesville and New Philadelphia.  Enrollees can complete the program by early June 2013, in time for the start of the 2013-2014 school year.

"We are pleased and excited to offer this endorsement which was created in response to Ohio鈥檚 Third-Grade Reading Guarantee,鈥� said Nancy Bradley, coordinator of this program at 天涯海角APP University.

The program will be offered in one after-school face-to-face meeting each week, plus three Saturday meetings. 鈥淲e hope that the format allows flexibility and accessibility for educators who are currently in the field,鈥� added Bradley. The 12-hour program includes classes in teaching reading Pre-K through 12, advanced literacy assessment, and becoming a leader for literacy.

Completion of coursework in this program will count toward earning a master鈥檚 degree at 天涯海角APP University, explained Bradley. Enrollment in this program is limited and the application fee will be waived for those enrolling by December 19, 2012.

天涯海角APP University offers this innovative program in addition to several intensive endorsement programs 鈥� early childhood generalist, middle childhood generalist, and highly qualified teacher 鈥� available throughout the year.
