ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP

Professor of History Dr. William Kerrigan, Heather Giffen ’09, and Ryan Worbs ‘10 have co-authored a new pictorial history, ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP College, (2009, Arcadia Publishing). Drawing from a rich collection of photographs, the book chronicles more than 170 years of Muskie campus life.

A history major, Ryan Worbs is a recipient of the SHEAR/Mellon Fellowship, for which only 10 students across the county are selected annually. His fellowship opportunity provided summer study in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he pursued original primary source research in the nation’s finest early American history archival collections.

Heather Giffen graduated with a major in international affairs. Her ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP legacy ties date back more than 100 years – she represents the fifth consecutive generation of the Giffen/Sleeth families to attend ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP. 

William Kerrigan is the Arthur G. Cole and Eloise Barnes Cole Distinguished Professor of American History at ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP. An active writer and researcher, his recent publications include Images of America: Salt Fork State Park, (2007, Arcadia Publishing, with Meredith Bowman ’06 and Alicia Seng ‘07) and Images of America: Cambridge, Ohio (2006, Arcadia Publishing, with Rebecka Hackett ‘06, Alicia Seng ’07, Michelle Moore ’06, Allison Avolio ’07, and Jason Mattern ‘06).  He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, his Master of Arts from Texas Christian University, and his Bachelor of Arts from Austin College.
