We know that the financial aid process can be overwhelming and time-consuming. This page is designed to help you navigate the financial aid process easily and efficiently. Below we have created a Financial Aid Timeline to help you know when, where, and how to navigate the financial aid process. The timeline will go over the steps that occur after you have received your ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP University Financial Aid Offer. While this timeline provides a general timeframe for the completion of financial aid tasks, many tasks can be completed at any time prior to the start of the 2027-2028 academic year (so, don’t worry if you complete a task outside the suggested timeframe)! 

Financial Aid Timeline

Fall 2026

• Create FSA ID - Every student and parent contributing information to the FAFSA is required to create an FSA ID. This ID can be created by visiting  

Starting in October 2026

Apply for Financial Aid

• File the FAFSA - Every student is encouraged to file the 2027-2028 FAFSA form. You can file the FAFSA at If you have been accepted to ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP and already filed a FAFSA, make sure you have listed us on your FAFSA form. Our school code is 003084. 

Starting December 2026 - estimated

• Receive your Financial Aid Offer - If you have been accepted to ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP and have completed the FAFSA (), you should expect to receive a Financial Aid Offer in early December or within 2 weeks of being accepted for admission and submitting your FAFSA application. Contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions about your Financial Aid Offer. You can reach us at 740-826-8139 or finaid@muskingum.edu.

March 2027 through July 2027

1. If borrowing the Direct Loans listed on your Financial Aid Offer:  

2. Attend a Muskie Preview Day (dates in June)  

• Our Admission Office will let you know when to register for Muskie Preview. You must pay the Admission Deposit prior to registration.  

• At Muskie Preview you will learn more about financing options (including payment plans and loans) and reporting outside scholarships. You will also have the opportunity for an individual meeting with your financial aid counselor.  

• After Muskie Preview, you will know how to access MuskieLink to accept, reduce, or decline the loans listed on your ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Financial Aid Offer. MuskieLink will replace your Admission Status Page for accessing your Financial Aid Offer and other important information.  

3. Receive the first-semester billing statement in June  

• The amount due should be about half the amount listed as your Remaining Cost amount on your aid offer (less any loans you decline).  

4. Report Outside Scholarships

• You are required to report any scholarships received outside of ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP that are over $100. You may report an outside scholarship at any time.    
• You can report your outside scholarships in MuskieLink by going to the Financial Aid section and choosing the Report/View Outside Awards option.

5. Make financing decisions

• Determine how you will pay your Remaining Cost:  

1. Pay by Semester  

2. Payment Plan  

3. Parent PLUS or Private Loan   

4. Other (VA Benefits, 529 Plan) 

5. Combination of the above options  

August 2027 

• Payment or payment arrangements are due August 1st 

• If the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Loan was included in your Financial Aid Offer, check your ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP email account for an email from UASConnect. You will need to follow the instructions within that email to complete the Master Promissory Note.  

• Receive the second semester billing statement for the 2027-2028 school year in December 2027. Payment is due at the beginning of January 2028.
